Resetting Passwords for Other Users
In a VIDIZMO Portal, users with the user management permissions (assigned either through a group or via CAL)—can reset passwords of other users as needed. Password resets can be performed for individual users or for multiple users at one time. Once the reset process is initiated, an email containing a link to reset the password is sent to the selected user(s).
Note: This method applies only to VIDIZMO logins created through manual registration. If your account utilizes Single Sign-On (SSO) or a third-party login provider, please contact your IT Administrator or third-party login provider for instructions.
Prerequisites
- Users with the User Management feature permission can reset passwords for other users in the Portal. This feature can be enabled for users that are part of the User Manager group.
Sending a Password Reset Email
- Click the navigation menu button on the top left
- Expand the Admin tab
- Select Users & Groups
- On the Users & Groups page, the All Users group displays every member or user that is part of your portal. You can also select other groups to view their respecitve members. Select the group that contains the target user
- Click the three dots next to the user to display available options
- Select Reset password
- VIDIZMO displays a confirmation window or modal that shows the name of the user whose password will be reset.
- Click Reset Password to send the reset passowrd email to the selected user.
- A notification is displayed briefly stating that the the email has been sent.
Resetting Password
The user receiving the password reset email must perform the following steps to set a new password:
- Open the password reset email, and click the provided link.
- You'll be redirected to the Reset Password screen.
- Enter your new password.
- Re-enter the new password to confirm it.
- Click Update to save your new password.
- After your password is updated, a confirmation page appears. Click the here link to return to the login page.
- Log in to the Portal using your new password.
Reset User Passwords in Bulk
Follow these steps to reset passwords for multiple users in bulk:
- Select multiple users by checking the boxes next to their names within a specific group. To select all users within the group, select the checkbox at the top.
- Click Action.
- Select Reset Password from the dropdown menu.
- VIDIZMO displays a confirmation window listing the email addresses of all selected users who will receive the password reset link.
- Click Reset Password to send password reset emails to the selected users.
