Import Users in Bulk Using a CSV File
VIDIZMO allows bulk user import, replacing the tedious process of adding users one at a time. This feature enables the import of new users in bulk and assigns them to any desired group. The bulk import uses a CSV file that transfers all user metadata.
A downloadable template containing all the mandatory and optional columns is available to edit, and then the user can upload. This feature saves time and makes the work process less complicated and contented.
To learn more about the bulk import of users and groups in VIDIZMO, read “Understanding Bulk Imports of Users and Groups Using CSVs.”

The CSV file is field-sensitive, and altering the order or names of fields will result in an error during upload. Therefore, the order of the fields must be strictly adhered to.

In the Workflows Queues section, locate the Percentage column, which displays the progress of the imports.
- The State of the import can be categorized as Failed, Finished, or Finished with an error. If the import is successful, the state will be Finished.
- If the State indicates Failed or Finished with an error, click on Details in the Action column for more information. This action will direct you to the Workflow details section.
Note: Alternatively, you can directly click on the Workflows icon situated in the upper right corner, adjacent to your Profile. It will display a comprehensive list of Workflows.
Guidelines for CSV of Bulk Import
The CSV file structure for user and group import in VIDIZMO is designed for efficiency. The maximum allowable file size is 50MB.
The CSV file contains the following fields:
- First Name and Last Name (Mandatory): The First Name and Last Name is required for each user. Users without these fields will be skipped during import.
- Email (Mandatory): A valid email address must be provided for each user's entry. Users without an email will be skipped.
- Password (Mandatory): If the "Send Email Forcefully" checkbox is unchecked, the Password field becomes mandatory. Users without a password will be skipped.
- CAL (optional): Assign specific CAL to users. If no CAL is specified, the portal default CAL will be assigned to that user. Read: “Viewing and Setting Default CALs in Portal”
- Group (Optional): Assign users to specific groups. Users can be a part of one or multiple groups by specifying the group name in the CSV. If a group mentioned in the CSV does not exist, the system will create it. By default, all users belong to the "All User" group in VIDIZMO.
- Auto Confirm Email: Set the value in the "Auto Email Confirm" column to 1. This signifies that the user will be exempt from receiving a confirmation email and can log in directly to the portal without the need for email verification. Conversely, if the value is set to 0, a confirmation email will be dispatched to the user, containing a confirmation link. The user must confirm this link before gaining access to the portal.
The Bulk import feature by VIDIZMO marks a significant stride towards enhancing user experience and streamlining administrative tasks. By allowing users to effortlessly import both individual users and groups through a CSV file, this feature not only liberates valuable time but also fosters a more organized and efficient workflow.
