Can VIDIZMO Host and Deliver Content in China?

Yes. VIDIZMO can host and deliver content to users in mainland China by using compliant infrastructure and configurations. To legally deliver content within China's regulatory framework, you must obtain an ICP (Internet Content Provider) filing or license for the domain used to deliver content. This requirement applies whether you host content within China or use a China‑enabled CDN for delivery.

Important: Hosting content near China's border or using general global acceleration services cannot bypass regulatory requirements. To deliver content to users in mainland China reliably, you must use one of the compliant methods outlined below.

Method 1: Content Stored and Hosted in China

You can deploy VIDIZMO in the Azure China datacenter, which enables local storage, hosting, and delivery of your videos and other content to users within mainland China. Azure China services are operated locally and are designed to meet Chinese regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Azure China is operated by 21Vianet with infrastructure located inside mainland China.
  • It provides data residency and delivery performance benefits.
  • Content delivered from within China typically experiences lower latency for users inside China.

Note: Azure China is a separate Azure environment from Azure Global. It requires a dedicated Azure China subscription (not a subscription type in the standard Setup Wizard).

For more information about storage configuration, see: Understanding Azure Storage in VIDIZMO.

Method 2: Content Stored Outside China but Delivered to Chinese Users

If your content is stored outside China but must be delivered to Chinese audiences, you can use a China‑enabled CDN (for example, Azure CDN China) for delivery. Such CDNs include Points of Presence (PoPs) located within mainland China that cache and deliver content locally.

  • China‑enabled CDNs accelerate content delivery to Chinese users without moving the original storage.
  • When configuring your storage provider, select Standard_ChinaCdn as the CDN SKU.
